We offer much more than just an eye examination. Our services include:

The opportunity:

As an optometrist working for Jane Smellie Opticians, you will have access to high end equipment, including OCT’s in all consulting rooms. You will be supported by a fantastic, knowledgeable front of house team. Career progression is actively encouraged. We have Optometrists that have recently gained IP, Glaucoma and Medical retina qualifications!

Davies & Lowry Optometrists are looking for an Optometrist to join our team. We are an independent practice, near Pontypridd, South Wales, approx. 20 mins from Cardiff.

Full time or part time position considered.

Salary will depend on experience and qualifications.

Our practice is focused on expanding our enhanced services which currently include wGOS 3, 4 and 5 and we would welcome applications from Optoms who either already hold, or are keen to study for post graduate qualifications including those newly qualified.

Testing times are 30 mins and practice hours Mon- Fri 9.00-5.30, Sat 9.00-2.30 no Sundays or Bank Holidays.

Location: Mold, Flintshire and Ruthin, Denbighshire.

Full time role, Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm, and 1 in 4 Saturdays 9am to 1pm. No Sundays or late evenings.

Due to recent expansion, we are looking for a skilled and dedicated Dispensing Optician to join our team. In this role, you will not only assist patients with selecting and fitting eyewear, but also conduct preliminary eye examinations to help assist the Optometrist.

Key Responsibilities:

– Conduct preliminary eye exams, including visual fields and Oct scanning.

– Assist patients in choosing frames and lenses based on their prescription, lifestyle, and preferences.

– Accurately measure and fit eyewear to ensure comfort and optimal vision.

– Provide advice on lens options, coatings, and frame styles.

– Ensure all eyewear is dispensed in compliance with the patient’s prescription and comfort.

– Handle repairs and adjustments to frames when necessary.

– Assemble and check spectacles orders.

– Provide exceptional customer service and build long-term relationships with clients.

Requirements:

– Certified Dispensing Optician.

– Previous experience in dispensing and performing preliminary eye tests is preferred.

– Strong communication skills and a passion for delivering excellent patient care.

– Ability to work efficiently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

We are looking to appoint a specialist optometrist within Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB). This is a permanent clinical post working alongside our ophthalmology consultant and medical workforce  specialist optometrists, orthoptist and nursing teams.

We are a dynamic multi-disciplinary team and are keen to support additional qualifications and training in a range of sub-specialisms.

Our Ophthalmology department a benefits from an Eye Clinic Liaison Officer, admin & booking teams and along with a supportive management team within the Ophthalmology directorate and Scheduled care.
