R.W. Cole Opticians is looking for an enthusiastic, patient-focused Optometrist to join our friendly
and clinically driven independent practice.
We are an established independent opticians committed to exceptional eye care and a personal service
for every patient. We pride ourselves on offering a broad range of clinical services and supporting our
optometrists to develop their skills and clinical interests.
A Clinically Diverse Practice
We have been providing independent prescribing at R.W. Cole since 2016, and we have an
experienced DPP supervisor within the practice. This provides an excellent environment for
optometrists who are working towards their independent prescribing qualification or who want to
develop their prescribing and clinical decision-making skills.
Our clinical services include:
Independent prescribing, established at R.W. Cole since 2016
Low vision assessments and management
Medical retina
A wide range of contact lens fitting
Comprehensive eye examinations and ocular health assessment
OCT imaging and interpretation
Appropriate referral and co-management of ocular conditions

Your responsibilities will include:
Conducting thorough eye examinations and providing excellent clinical care
Assessing, diagnosing and managing ocular conditions
Interpreting OCT scans confidently and recognising signs of ocular pathology
Using your clinical judgement to identify patients requiring further investigation or referral
Providing clear and professional advice on eye health and visual needs
Taking an active role in our low vision, medical retina and contact lens services
